Creativity is Problem Solving (feat. Jaime Arlene)

When studio artist Jaime Arlene painted the piece Mother and Child, she had no idea how it would resonate with countless individuals. She was years away from becoming a mother herself, but her artist’s heart and eye already resonated with the themes of motherhood. Now, Jaime finds inspiration for her art through her motherhood experiences, and she uses that artist’s creativity to problem solve the day to day challenges of parenting. Welcome to Talk Terracotta, a podcast where, this season, we are exploring the intersection of creativity and parenting. I’m Kimberly Sagers, a mental health therapist, and on this show I talk with creatives and mental health professionals to help you transform your life into something warm, authentic, life giving– something Terracotta.

Jaime is a studio artist who currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband, Kris and almost 2 year old girl, named Summer. Jaime loves painting themes that involve around nature, motherhood, and all things feminine. Her medium of choice includes watercolors, oils, acrylics, and recently using textiles. Learn more about her at jaimearlene.com.
