3600 Hours— From Pain to Beauty (feat. Sara Weir)
How long is 3600 hours? About 4 months. When photographer Sara Weir calculated the amount of time it would take to do all things related to pumping milk and feeding her baby daughter for a year, she was overwhelmed by the number: 3600 hours. Faced with this immense mountain to climb, she made the choice to integrate creativity. That single choice transformed the experience for her, and it is one I invite all of us to consider as we face our own mountains.
Sara Weir is a film photographer living in the high desert of Reno, Nevada. She has five beautiful children with her husband, Jayson. Her work explores the question of beauty in the ordinary, how place shapes us, and the timelessness of black and white film. She considers herself a documentary photographer with a portraiture bend.
